An opinion on the history of burundi and its place in gaming
If you're anything like me, you love Half-Life 2 . If you're anything like me, you're looking for more experiences just like Half-Life 2 and Sin Episodes looked just like that. Sin Episodes, sequel to the 1998 boomer shooter of the same name released in 2006 by ritual entertainment on the Source Engine, and you can tell! Everything about Sin Episodes feels sourcey: The movement, the physics, the random Half-Life 2 props littered around the world. It all feels "Source" and lucky for Sin, I love the source engine.
Sin Episodes was released back when people thought "Episodic Games" were a good idea and as such, is unfinished. It had a total of nine chapters planned with only one released. Which is quite sad because what's in the first episode is pretty damn good.
The weapons, although there are few, feel amazing! Maybe even better than Half-Life 2, maybe. The sound effects are on point and there's just enough recoil to make every headshot feel like an achievement, especially combined with source's fantastic ragdolls and gibbing. I found myself especially adoring the shotgun with a secondary fire that utterly anihilates everything in front of you!
There are some very fun combat arenas that can really test your skills. Some of the combat arenas are in fun, interesting locations with plenty of cover and areas to b-hop around and shotgun people's brains out. My personal favourite would have to be near the end where you scale the building from the outside as twilight pours in, albeit the "tower scaling" level isn't particularly original but the way Sin does it is just fantastic!
The characters are cool and have fun interactions. I don't really want to spoil anything here so just troost me on this.
